 School Groups 2019 — Dublin & Drogheda

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT ?

INNOVATIVE WORKSHOPS

Our English for the Workplace programme provides students with essential language and professional communication skills. Groups can upgrade this programme to include visits from experts in the fields of Business, Tourism, Environmental and Animal Conservation.

TECHNOLOGY

Technology is an important tool in the classroom, research shows it improves engagement and knowledge retention and ultimately it can make lessons more fun
and dynamic. At ELI we have embraced VR and Alexa technologies to ensure your students have a truly unique learning experience.

CLIL CURRICULUM

Inspired by CLIL teaching concepts our General English & Irish Culture programme will immerse your students in the language ensuring a much richer learning experience. Your students will learn English through the theme of Irish culture in class and experience real life examples in their activity programme.

LUNCH VOUCHERS

Packed lunches are affordable and practical, but quality can vary, and students don’t always have choice. We’ve developed a system where students can order fresh healthy homemade salads & sandwiches in local cafes giving them a sense of independence, a better quality of choice and another opportunity to practice their English!

20-MINUTE TRAVEL TO SCHOOL

Staying in a welcoming and friendly host family is crucial to ensuring our students have a fantastic experience. We recruit and inspect every family we work with and all have passed police checks. In Drogheda we are also delighted to be able to offer our students an unbeatable 20-minute commute to school by bus or on foot.

AFFORDABLE WORK EXPERIENCE

Taking part in a professional work experience can be a rewarding and inspiring experience for young adults. We have developed an affordable option for groups to
take part in an experience in a variety of sectors including retail, tourism, general office administration and the services industry.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Our language programmes include 15 hours tuition per week and a free activity programme. Groups can choose the focus of their lessons from the themes below, or we can tailor make a programme to suit their requirements. Groups can also upgrade their programme to include Professional Workshops or Work Experience.

GENERAL ENGLISH + IRISH CULTURE

Our General English course focuses on the four main language skills and lessons are taught using a task-based method involving topics and themes from Irish culture including Irish writers, myths & storytelling, Irish history and Irish music. We then include real life examples of topics covered in class in our afternoon activity programmes.

EXAM PREPARATION

Exam preparation is becoming a key component of the curriculum in high schools across Europe. We can offer groups preparing for exams an intensive one-week programme that will help test all the skills required for their chosen exam. We can help groups preparing for IELTS, PET/FCE/CAE, or Trinity ISE or GESE
